I.   The story

We started with a refusal.

In 2021, two people left comfortable positions at firms they admired because they could not reconcile what those firms said with what those firms shipped.

The premise was simple: build a company where the people writing the code also answer the phone. Where every engagement has a partner's name on it. Where the client never wonders who is actually doing the work.

Five years later, Semperr is still privately held, still deliberately small, and still answering the same question the same way: build things that work, for people who notice.

Same answer to the same question. Three platforms, one charter, no exceptions.
II.   The partners

A name on every engagement.

Semperr is led by its founding partners. No board, no advisors, no committee. Every client engagement has a partner's direct line.

E
Eleanor Voss
Co-Founder · Partner · New York

Former principal at a top-tier data analytics firm. Eleanor oversees Trace, client relationships, and the company's editorial voice. She writes most of The Charterr and believes that if you can't explain the number, you shouldn't ship the number.

H
Henry Okafor
Co-Founder · Partner · San Francisco

Former engineering lead at an institutional software firm. Henry oversees Clad, Dev, and infrastructure operations. He interviews every engineering hire and still reviews production deploys on Friday afternoons.

III.   The charter

Five principles. No exceptions.

Every engagement, every hire, every line of code is measured against the same standard. These are not aspirations — they are terms.

I Rigor Every figure traceable. Every source dated. Every derivation recoverable.
II Discretion Client data is treated as testimony — never shared, never inferred, never sold.
III Durability We build for the decade, not the quarter. If it can’t survive a regime change, it doesn’t ship.
IV Clarity Plain language, honest timelines, no jargon designed to obscure.
V Accountability A name on every deliverable. A partner on every engagement.
